Karen was appointed to the RRHA Board of Commissioners on September 1, 2019. She is a native of Roanoke, VA. Karen worked for TAP for about a year and was asked to take the position of in-house Component Manager. She also worked for Blue Ridge Housing as a receptionist and was later promoted to front Office Manager.

While working for both TAP and Blue Ridge Housing, Karen attended classes where she received training in mortgage management. Karen is a graduate of William Fleming High School and went on to attend Dominion Business College where she graduated with studies in Computer Science and Business Management. Karen has facilitated many events in the City of Roanoke with a focus on improving unity, which is one of her many passions.
