Resident Notification of Moving to Work Application

UPDATE 5/24/2021: At this time, the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority is no longer applying for the Moving to Work (MTW) demonstration program-Cohort #3.

In a notice sent out to public housing authorities on Friday, May 21, 2021, HUD explains they are committed to implementing the MTW Expansion in a way that is responsive to the economic realities and current needs of low-income families. To that end, the Department is rescinding the selection notice seeking applications for the Work Requirements Cohort of the MTW Expansion (PIH Notice 2021-02)

May 17, 2021: Cohort #3 – Work Requirements

Dear Residents and Participants,
On behalf of the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA), I am writing to let you know that the RRHA is applying for the Moving to Work (MTW) demonstration program, and we would like your input.

Moving to Work (MTW) is a demonstration program for public housing authorities (PHAs) that provides them the opportunity to design and test innovative, locally-designed strategies that use Federal dollars more efficiently, help residents find employment and become self-sufficient and increase housing choices for low-income families. MTW allows PHAs exemptions from many existing public housing and voucher rules and provides funding flexibility with how they use their Federal funds.
