Meghan Castaneda is our July 2021 FSS Resident Of The Month.
Meghan has done an amazing job as the front desk receptionist and is now utilizing her skills and desire to help others within her new role as the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Clerical Assistant at RRHA. As a resident, Meghan is starting off strong in the Family Self-Sufficiency Program and is well on her way to achieving the many goals she has set for herself.

“I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude to be part of this team here at the housing authority and for the opportunity to work with the FSS program and one day buy a home.”
Meghan was recognized for her hard work during a presentation on Thursday, August 12. She was presented with a certificate, flowers and a special gift. We thank the Roanoke City Police Department for sponsoring this event.
Meghan has been employed with RRHA since April 2021.

The FSS program is a five-year employment and saving program. Participants are connected with resources and opportunities designed to assist them on their path toward self-sufficiency and economic independence. A portion of any rent increase is placed into escrow savings account monthly and will be disbursed to the participant upon program graduation.
