ORGANIC COMMUNITY GARDEN

The EnVision Center’s Organic Community Garden, generously sponsored by Josh Wright from Anthem Medicaid and with the support of the Virginia Cooperative Extension, has become a lively space for our community. Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, our team members and neighbors come together to plant, care for, and harvest fresh, organic vegetables. The staff at the EnVision Center regularly harvests and delivers vegetables to the residents of Melrose Towers and Morningside Manor. We encourage everyone in the Roanoke Valley, especially RRHA and Section 8 residents, to stop by and enjoy some delicious, locally-grown produce!

Looking for a fun way to spend your Wednesday afternoon?
Join us in the garden from 4:00 to 5:30 PM!
No experience or tools needed—just stop by and jump in!

Wondering how to get fresh, free produce?

Visit the EnVision Center in the afternoon to check out freshly picked produce from the organic garden, or grab a bag from the gold mailbox to harvest your own. While you’re there, feel free to ask about volunteer opportunities!

We’ve added these arrows to help you identify which vegetables are ready to be picked. When you visit the garden to harvest, please follow the signs and remember to leave enough for others to enjoy. If you have any questions, feel free to stop by the Center, and our staff will be happy to assist.

What’s growing in our garden right now?

It’s harvest time! Kale, snap peas, lettuce, and broccoli are available for picking—come grab some fresh, free veggies!

Peppers, tomatoes, squash, and eggplant are on the way. Stay tuned!
