Join us for our upcoming Community Cookout and Financial Literacy Event with Bank On Roanoke Valley!
The Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA) is excited to invite the community to a free Community Cookout on Saturday, April 5th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the EnVision Center, located at 2607 Salem Turnpike NW, Roanoke, VA. This event will feature free refreshments, family-friendly activities, free books for kids, and access to valuable community resources.
In partnership with RRHA, Bank on Roanoke Valley will be launching Roanoke Valley Saves Week during the cookout. As part of this initiative, Mayor Joseph L. Cobb will read an official proclamation between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM to mark the beginning of the week-long financial empowerment campaign. Roanoke Valley Saves Week is part of the national “America Saves” movement, aimed at helping residents take positive financial steps, save regularly, and build financial confidence.
The goal of this collaboration is to provide northwest Roanoke residents with access to crucial financial resources while fostering a fun and engaging environment for families and individuals alike.
This event is made possible through the support and participation of multiple local organizations, including Bank on Roanoke Valley, Bank of Botetourt, Carilion Adolescent Health, Virginia Department of Health, Blue Ridge Behavioral Health, Virginia Western Community College, DePaul Community Resources, Academy at Belle, Family Services of Roanoke Valley, Goodwill Industries, and Truist Bank.
This event is free and open to the public. RRHA encourages all community members to join in for an afternoon of fun, food, and financial empowerment.
We hope to see you there!
