Ms. Valencia Burch joined the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program in February 2020 with a clear vision for her future. Through determination and hard work, she accomplished numerous goals, including earning her Homeownership Counseling Certification.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Ms. Burch maintained her employment as a special needs teacher and continues to thrive in her career. The FSS program, in partnership with various community agencies through the Roanoke Redevelopment & Housing Authority, helped Ms. Burch overcome barriers and provided valuable resources.
Filled with gratitude and appreciation for the program, Ms. Burch officially graduated on August 23, 2024, and plans to use her escrow savings for a down payment on her first home. We are incredibly proud of Ms. Burch’s achievements and thrilled that through our programs, individuals like her can realize their dreams and achieve self-sufficiency.
