Brenda Prieto was born and raised in Mexico City and moved to the City of Roanoke as an international student to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies at Roanoke College. Throughout her professional career, she has gained extensive experience in developing public relations and marketing campaigns across various media platforms, including print, outdoor, and digital media. After collaborating with numerous local organizations, she furthered her education by obtaining a Master's Degree in Strategic Communications from Radford University.

Brenda Prieto holds the position of Public Relations, Marketing, and Social Media Manager at the City of Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority, where she also oversees the marketing initiatives for the recently established RRHA's Roanoke EnVision Center.
