RRHA Receives $164,000 Grant to Install 5 Additional Surveillance Cameras to Combat Gun Violence Within the Community

The City of Roanoke has been granted state funding by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services through the Gun Violence Intervention Program Grant. This funding is intended to support the ongoing efforts of the Roanoke Gun Violence Prevention Commission.

The Gun Violence Prevention Commission is allocating funds from the Gun Violence Intervention Program Grant to the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA) for activities aimed at preventing and addressing gun violence within the community.

The grant amount is $164,000.00, which will be used to install a total of five additional surveillance cameras. These cameras will be strategically placed at our Lansdowne Park, Villages at Lincoln, and Jamestown sites. This week marks the beginning of the camera installation process.
