The City of Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA) is currently accepting applications for a part-time Activity Coordinator for our Melrose Towers location. This is a part-time position in which the individual is responsible for organizing and planning a variety of activities and classes for RRHA residents. The employee works directly with both senior adults and those with disabilities. This employee will plan, implement, and evaluate opportunities and programs that will keep residents engaged and active, thereby encouraging independence. The individual will establish and maintain working relationships with community partners while serving as a resource for residents and their needs. They will also advertise, market, and communicate with residents about upcoming events.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum one year of college education, with a preferred area of study in recreation and/or human services.
  • Any combination of experience and/or training which would affod the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities that meet the requisites for this position.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License.
